TNHO Membership Renewal

Hello to all our Hospice and Palliative Care organizations,

As we head into this wonderful time of year when we celebrate the many gifts of faith, family, and friends, let me first send you my heartfelt thanks for allowing me the opportunity to meet so many of you this past summer and fall.  Working with THO, our board members, NHPCO, and driving around our great (and very long!) state of Tennessee has been such a thrill; it is so gratifying to see the wonderful work so many of you do each and every day to serve our patients and families when they need us most.  I have served in this field for over 25 years and I have never been prouder of Hospice and Palliative Care than I am now.  We have so much opportunity in front of us.

And, as always, as one year draws to a close, we chart the course for the up-coming one.  Our Tennessee Hospice Organization exists for the sole purpose of representing you in the state, advocating for and protecting the care you provide with our legislature, as well as assisting and educating our communities and our associates.  We are created by you and are maintained by you.  We are a membership organization, so each and every hospice and palliative care entity is vitally important to the health and growth of THO.  For those of you that have been long-time members, I thank you.  For those who may have drifted away these past few years, I appeal to you to come back and join our work in Tennessee.  For those of you who may have never been a member, I ask that you give serious consideration to joining THO as we continue our efforts on your behalf.

Tennessee Hospice Organization is changing!  We look forward to including palliative care not only in our name (soon to be the Tennessee Hospice & Palliative Care Organization – TNHPCO).  As we care for seriously ill patients, the utilization of hospice & palliative care is more important than ever before.  Just as our national organization embraces the entire continuum of this healthcare specialty, we must do so as well in Tennessee.  How care will look in Tennessee is ours to define, develop, and promote – no national organization can determine that for us.  Our state, as is true in every state, is unique; TNHPCO is dedicated always and only to Tennesseans; we have much opportunity and much work ahead of us.

TNHPCO cannot exist without each and every hospice and palliative care provider joining our organization and being an active voice in determining our future.  I ask that you all become members of TNHPCO in 2019; join in our advocacy efforts, help TNHPCO bring strong community education to our cities, and help us educate all who work within our organizations.  We are holding steady with our dues structure for 2019 and adding a modest dues structure for palliative care.  Please take a moment to review the attached form and help us get off to a great start come this January by sending in your membership payment.

We have so much to be thankful for – help us create a wonderful year for TNHPCO.  On behalf of our organization, I thank you.  I am grateful for each and every one of you.
